Getting started
How home care works
Starting care should feel calm and clear. It begins with a conversation about your loved one, and the care plan keeps being reviewed as their needs change.

Review & adjust
As circumstances change, we review whether the care plan should change too.
The goal is appropriate care, not unnecessary hours.
A care plan that can change with you
The care someone needs today may not be the care they need three months from now. Someone returning home from rehabilitation may gradually become more independent. Another person may begin needing more help.
That is why care should be reviewed, not simply scheduled indefinitely.
The goal is appropriate care, not unnecessary hours.

You don’t need to know how many hours you need before calling us
Many families think they have to choose between four hours, eight hours, overnight or 24-hour care before speaking with anyone. You don’t have to figure that out by yourself.
Tell us what is happening. Tell us what your loved one can still do independently, what the family can realistically manage and what is worrying you. Then we can talk through an appropriate care arrangement.

Getting started questions
How many hours of care will we need?
It depends on the person. Some families need extensive daily support; others benefit from more focused care. You don’t need to know before you call. We look at daily routines, personal care, family support, meals, transportation and safety, then talk through an appropriate schedule, and review it as needs change.
How do we get started?
Call or email us during office hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PT), or send the consultation form. Tell us what’s happening, and our care team will talk through the support that would help.
What happens when we meet with Caringood?
We learn about your loved one’s routines, personal care needs, safety, preferences and the family situation. Then we discuss an appropriate care plan and schedule with you.
How soon can care start?
It depends on the care needed and caregiver availability. We’ll always give you an honest answer about timing rather than a promise we can’t keep.
What if my loved one’s needs change?
Care should be reviewed, not simply scheduled indefinitely. Someone coming home from rehab may become more independent; someone else may need more help over time. As circumstances change, we review whether the care plan should change too.
How do you match a caregiver?
We consider your loved one’s care needs, preferences, personality, schedule, location and caregiver availability. The aim is a good fit, not simply whoever is free.
Will we have the same caregiver every visit?
We aim for consistent caregivers whenever scheduling allows, so your loved one can build a relationship with someone who knows their routines. We can’t promise the same caregiver every visit, and we’ll be honest with you when a change is needed.
What if my loved one doesn’t click with their caregiver?
Tell us. The relationship matters, and we’ll work with you to find a better match.
Not Sure What Kind of Care You Need? That’s Okay.
You don’t need to know how many hours, what service or what schedule you need before contacting us.
Tell us what’s happening, what your loved one can still do on their own and what’s worrying you. We’ll start there.
