Non-medical home care
Companion Care
Conversation, walks, activities, outings and meaningful time together, because care is also about connection.

What is companion care?
Companion care is for someone who manages much of daily life but shouldn’t spend long stretches alone. A caregiver brings company, conversation and a helping hand with the day.
It often sits alongside practical help: preparing meals, running errands, light housekeeping and getting to appointments.
Who it’s for
- Someone who is lonely, or spends much of the day alone
- People who have stopped going out, or need company to do it safely
- Families who live at a distance or work during the day
What’s included
- Conversation, games, hobbies and walks
- Outings and transportation to appointments
- Meal preparation and company at mealtimes
- Errands and light housekeeping
- Medication reminders
How Caringood approaches care

The right amount of care
Hours are based on what your loved one actually needs, not on how many can be scheduled.

How many hours of care will we need?
It depends on the person. Some families need extensive daily support; others benefit from more focused care. You don’t need to know before you call. We look at daily routines, personal care, family support, meals, transportation and safety, then talk through an appropriate schedule, and review it as needs change.
How much does care cost?
Cost depends on the hours and type of care your loved one needs. We aim to build a care plan around what they actually need, not the most hours we can schedule. Talk with our care team for current rates.
How do families pay for care?
Families may use private pay and, depending on eligibility and policy terms, may be able to use long-term care insurance or qualifying veterans’ benefits. Your insurer or the VA decides eligibility; we’re happy to talk through the options with you.
What does a companion caregiver do?
Spends time with your loved one: conversation, walks, hobbies and outings, along with practical help such as meals, errands, light housekeeping and transportation to appointments.
Not Sure What Kind of Care You Need? That’s Okay.
You don’t need to know how many hours, what service or what schedule you need before contacting us.
Tell us what’s happening, what your loved one can still do on their own and what’s worrying you. We’ll start there.
